How to renew
- Check your fingerprints. Since July 1, 2025 a renewal needs background screening or retained fingerprints, finished within 90 days of expiration. Check yours in CHAI (FL Health Source). Retention, if it's due, is $43.25.
- Finish the CE and look at CE Broker. The Department checks your CE Broker record at renewal. Approved providers report for you; you can self-report a course that's missing (board CE page).
- Renew online at Florida Health Source (Renew A License) or the MQA Services Portal. The board says the Renew My License option shows up no later than 90 days before expiration.
- Pay before midnight Eastern on March 31, 2027. A status change, such as active to inactive, can't be made online.
- Keep the confirmation and check the state license lookup for the new date. Keep CE documentation for two years after the renewal period (rule 64B4-6.003).

If you miss midnight
- On April 1, 2027 an unrenewed license goes delinquent. Board: "Failure to renew an active or inactive license by the expiration date will result in the license being placed in delinquent status."
- You can't practice on a delinquent license (s. 456.036).
- Renewing after the date costs $225, or $355 after the 120-day notice.
- If it is still not renewed by the end of the next cycle (March 31, 2029), it becomes null and void (rule 64B4-6.0012).
