Your Part 107 recurrent, on one card.
A remote pilot certificate doesn't expire, but you can't fly under Part 107 unless you passed the knowledge test or the free online recurrent course within the last 24 calendar months. Put in that date and this card counts down, keeps your drone registration date, and puts both on your calendar. Free, and it stays on this phone.

How to renew
- Log in to FAASafety.gov (a free FAASTeam account).
- Take the free ALC-677 Part 107 Small UAS Recurrent course, or ALC-515 if you're a Part 61 pilot with a current flight review. You can take it any time, even after you've lapsed; no new test.
- Save the completion certificate. Carry it with your remote pilot certificate and photo ID (14 CFR 107.7; FAA FAQ).
- Put the new date on this card. The next one is due by the end of the 24th calendar month.
- Drone registration: renew in FAADroneZone ($5 a drone), keep the number on the aircraft, and carry the registration when you fly.
| Fee | Amount |
|---|---|
| Recurrent course (ALC-677) | $0 |
| Drone registration, 3 years | $5 a drone |
Course: FAA. Registration: 14 CFR 48.30.
If it runs out
- You can't fly under Part 107 until you're current again (14 CFR 107.65).
- No retest: ALC-677 is open to any certificate holder "regardless of aeronautical knowledge recency." Take it and you're current for another 24 calendar months.
- A registration under the recreational exception can't be flown under Part 107.
