How to renew
- Finish the hours. 24 in all: 2 on medical errors, at least 12 live, no more than 12 home study, and HIV/AIDS at your first renewal. Passing the Florida laws and rules exam earns 2 hours a cycle (form DH-MQA 1144). Find courses on CE Broker for PTs or PTAs.
- Check CE Broker. The board says every hour has to be submitted there (CE Broker).
- Check your fingerprint retention (FL Health Source). If it runs out this cycle, renewal adds $43.25.
- Renew online in the MQA Services Portal (Renew A License, then Renew My License). It shows up no later than 90 days before expiration, about September 1, 2027.
- Pay $80 before midnight Eastern on November 30, 2027, then check the state license lookup.

PT and PTA fees are the same. Inactive and retired fees: the board's renewal page. A rule change effective November 4, 2026 counts a finished accredited residency or fellowship as the 24 hours; the board page doesn't show it yet.
If you miss midnight
- On December 1, 2027 an unrenewed license goes delinquent, and a $55 delinquent fee is added.
- Renewing it costs $135 ($215 after the 120-day notice), and you report CE for this cycle and the one before.
- If it is still not renewed by the end of the next cycle (November 30, 2029), it is null and void. Board: "Failure by a delinquent licensee to renew before the expiration of the current licensure cycle renders the license Null and Void."
