500 practice questions for the CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) exam, built on the CRCST content outline. They follow its 7 sections, weighted the way the real exam is: Cleaning, Decontamination and Disinfection, Preparation and Packaging, and Sterilization Process (21% each), Departmental Considerations (15%), Sterile Storage, Transport and Inventory Management (9%), Professional Development and Human Relation Skills (8%) and Patient Care Equipment and Distribution (5%), and they cover all 143 topics under them. Most are moments on the floor: which way the air flows in decon, what a failed Bowie-Dick sheet looks like, where the BI goes in the load, why a wet pack is contaminated, what to do when an HLD test strip fails, and when an implant can leave the department. Each is tagged to its outline topic, so your score report shows exactly where you miss, and every answer explains why the best choice is best and names its public source.
The real test: 150 multiple-choice questions (125 scored, 25 unscored pretest) in 3 hours at a Prometric test center. It is pass/fail and HSPA publishes no passing number, so there is no fixed percent; you can retest after 6 weeks. Certification also takes 400 hours of hands-on work in a sterile processing department, before the exam or within 6 months after it. The exam follows HSPA's content outline from its 2023 job analysis: 7 sections, with Cleaning, Decontamination and Disinfection, Preparation and Packaging, and Sterilization Process at 21% each. Our practice test is full length, 125 scored questions plus 25 unscored, split by the outline's weights, passing at 70% (88 of 125).
Here: 500 questions. Our own practice questions, built on HSPA's CRCST exam content outline and written from public sources (the CDC Guideline for Disinfection and Sterilization in Healthcare Facilities, FDA reprocessing guidance and labeling rules, OSHA 1910.1030, 1910.1200, 1910.1047 and 1910.1048, EPA, and the AAMI standards and AORN guidelines as publicly summarized), with every answer's source named. Topics are the 7 sections of the content outline. Not HSPA's test questions. Free.
