500 practice questions for the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE), built on its current content outline. They follow its 10 domains, weighted the way the real exam is: Animal Care and Nursing (30 of the 150 scored items), Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Surgical Nursing and Anesthesia (20 each), Laboratory Procedures (14), Dentistry, Emergency Medicine/Critical Care and Pain Management (10 each), Diagnostic Imaging (9) and Communication (7), and they cover all 55 task statements under them. Most are moments on a real shift: how many mL of carprofen for a 10 kg dog, what rate to set for a fentanyl CRI, which form orders hydromorphone, why the autoclave pack came out wet, which egg has two plugs, when to pull the endotracheal tube on a bulldog, what to tell a client whose dog bit someone. Each is tagged to its outline task, so your score report shows exactly where you miss, and every answer works the math or explains why the best choice is best and names its public source.
The real test: 170 multiple-choice questions (150 scored, 20 unscored pilot questions) in 3 hours, at a PSI test center or by live remote proctoring, in one of four testing windows a year. It is scored from 200 to 800 and 425 passes, so there is no fixed percent; you can retest after 31 days, up to 3 times a calendar year. It follows the AAVSB content outline: 10 domains, Animal Care and Nursing (30 of the 150 scored items), Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Surgical Nursing and Anesthesia (20 each), Laboratory Procedures (14), Dentistry, Emergency Medicine/Critical Care and Pain Management (10 each), Diagnostic Imaging (9) and Communication (7). Our practice test is full length, 150 scored questions plus 20 unscored, split by the outline item counts, passing at 70% (105 of 150).
Here: 500 questions. Our own practice questions, built on the VTNE content outline and written from public sources (the Merck Veterinary Manual, FDA animal drug labels, DEA rules in 21 CFR 1300-1317, AVMA policies and euthanasia guidelines, AAHA and WSAVA guidelines, AVDC, CAPC, the American Heartworm Society, RECOVER, CDC, OSHA, NIOSH and NCRP), with every answer's source named. Topics are the 10 domains of the outline. Not AAVSB's test questions. Free.
