1. Install it (iPhone)
- Get Apple's free TestFlight app from the App Store.
- Tap the invite link from Brady, then Accept and Install.
- Android: coming soon. Tell Brady you're interested.
2. Set it up at home
- Enter your first name and your boat's name, length and color (the color helps rescuers spot you).
- Add one family member's mobile number. They get one text asking them to reply YES. Ask them to reply, or nothing else reaches them.
- Heads up: for the next few weeks the texts say Boat Day, the app's old name. Same app, same number.
- Allow location Always and notifications. Location is only used during a trip you start.
3. On your next trip
- Tap Start trip at the ramp and set an honest return time.
- Put the phone away, locked. Your family gets a text with a live map link.
- Back at the ramp, the app asks if you're back. Confirm and your family gets a "back" text.
- Running late? Tap +30 min, or Running late to add an hour and text your family "all good", so nobody gets a false alarm.
Heading past cell range? Read what happens when you lose signal.
