The Commercial Pilot Airplane knowledge test (test code CAX) has one number to hit. Here it is, with what happens after, from the FAA's testing matrix and the regulations.
70% passes. On the 100-question CAX test, that's 70 right.
The CAX test is 100 multiple-choice questions in 2.5 hours, and the matrix lists a minimum age of 16 to take it. The FAA may add unscored validation questions on top of the scored ones; they don't count for or against you, and the allotted time already covers them.
