Hunter Safety Practice Test: Free Hunter Education Exam Questions for Every State
250 practice questions for the hunter education exam, the test at the end of the hunter safety course most states require before your first license. Every state builds its course on the same IHEA-USA standards, and these questions follow them, weighted the way the standard final exam is: safe firearm handling the most, then field safety, hunter responsibility, conservation, and laws and wildlife identification. Many are moments from the field: the fence you have to cross alone, the partner who drops behind the line, the click that should have been a shot, the turkey hunter slipping toward your calls. Each is tagged to its standard topic, so your score report shows exactly where you miss, and every answer explains why the best choice is best and names its public source.
The real test: Every state gives its own final exam at the end of its hunter education course, online or at a field day, and sets its own passing score; 80% is the most common. The IHEA-USA standard that state courses follow calls for at least 50 four-option questions weighted across five sections (safe firearm handling is 40%), plus at least 10 questions on your own state's rules. Our practice test is 50 questions weighted the same way, passing at 80% (40 of 50).
Here: 250 questions. Our own practice questions, built on the topics of the IHEA-USA Hunter Education Standards and written from public sources (FWC and the Florida Statutes, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and 50 CFR 20, NIOSH, CDC, the National Weather Service, OSHA and TSA), with every answer's source named. Topics are the standards' sections. Not any state's or course provider's test questions. Free.
