Will it shut off at 85?
A free practice run of how the NCLEX-RN® ends: 85 to 150 questions, 15 that don't count, 3 case studies, and a computer that stops the moment it's 95% sure you're above or below the line. Take it yourself, or watch test-takers at every level go through it.
How this run works
- 85 to 150 questions and a 5-hour clock, like the real exam. The clock only runs while this page is open.
- 15 questions don't count. Real exams try out new questions on you. You won't know which ones until the end.
- 3 case studies of 6 questions each: one client, a chart that updates, and the six clinical judgment steps.
- No going back. Once you submit, the next question comes up. Each one is picked to be about as hard as you've shown you can handle.
- It stops on its own as soon as it's 95% sure which side of the passing line you're on, or at 150, or when time runs out.

Pick a test-taker and press Watch one exam. Each dot is the computer's best guess after that question, and the shaded band is how sure it is. It can only stop once you pass 85, and only when the whole band is on one side of the line.
