Wyoming credentials social workers at three levels: Certified Social Worker (CSW, bachelor's level), Provisional Clinical Social Worker (PCSW) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). There is no separate master's-level license with the Masters exam. Everything below comes from the board's own pages and rules, checked October 18, 2026. Fees and rules change, so confirm on the linked pages before you pay.

Wyoming, step by step
Wyoming Mental Health Professions Licensing Board
CSW (Rule 6-3): a CSWE-accredited BSW and the ASWB Bachelors exam; the board approves you and sends registration information.
PCSW: apply with a CSWE-accredited MSW (Rule 9-3), fingerprints and a Supervision Agreement signed by your Designated Qualified Clinical Supervisor (DQCS); supervision may not start until the board approves it.
LCSW hours (Rule 9-4):3,000 hours after the MSW over no less than 18 and no more than 36 months, at least 1,200 of them direct client contact, with at least 100 hours of clinical supervision by a DQCS.
LCSW exam: the ASWB Clinical exam, once your supervisor files the Verification and Evaluation of Supervised Experience (VESE) showing the hours were completed in no less than 18 months. You get three attempts (a fourth with a board-approved remediation plan).
Fees: provisional application $219, CSW $369, LCSW $419; each includes a $39 background check and $5 NPDB fee.
The steps that hold nearly everywhere: a CSWE-accredited degree, your board's approval (or ASWB's, in a few states), the ASWB exam at the level your license needs, then the license. Every ASWB level has 122 questions (110 scored) in 4 hours; Bachelors and Masters cost $230, Advanced Generalist and Clinical $260, and you wait at least 90 days to retake (ASWB Examination Guidebook, August 2026). A passing score counts in every state for the same exam level. The full walk-through: How to get your social work license.
