CCM exam passing score: why there isn't one number

You will see numbers quoted online. The Commission for Case Manager Certification's own guide says why none of them is the answer.

The short answer

Pass or no pass. The guide says passing scores "cannot be set as specific raw scores."

The CCM exam has 180 questions: 150 scored and 30 unscored pretest items, in two sessions of testing totaling 3 hours. An expert panel recommends the passing score, the Commission sets it, and each form is adjusted so it is equally hard.

Your result

Failing candidates get a domain profile that marks each area proficient, marginal or deficient. That's the study map for the next try.

If you didn't pass

The exam runs in three windows a year at Pearson VUE. You can retake it in the next window for $195. After a second failure you reapply.
